After nonchalantly releasing a few teaser shots on its consumer website, Acura has declared a name for the crossover concept it will reveal at the 2009 New York auto show. The all-new vehicle will be called the ZDX.
The concept will have coupe-like styling, flexible utility, and a commanding presence. It will most likely pack Acura’s latest advancements in performance, technology and safety. The company claims the new vehicle will define a new luxury category, although from the teaser shots we’d say the category may have already been defined by the BMW X6.
Jeff Conrad, vice president of sales at Acura, says “The ZDX prototype is unlike anything you have ever seen before from Acura. The prototype showcases a new level of luxury, style and refinement for Acura and speaks volumes towards our commitment to advancing the brand.”
The ZDX will debut at the New York auto show on April 8. A production version will find its way into showrooms this fall, likely as a 2010 model.
