Dog-Friendly Honda Element Headed to Dealerships

Dog lovers, rejoice: Honda's dog-friendly Element, first teased at the 2009 New York auto show, will arrive at dealerships across the U.S. next month.

As previewed in New York, the Dog Friendly package includes a number of accessories designed to cater to Fido during vehicular travel. Honda's designed a lightweight foldable entry ramp, which allows pets to enter and exit the cargo area without jumping. A spill-resistant water dish and fan are also installed in the cargo area, as are a cushioned bed and a netted cargo cover. Rear seat covers and rubber floor mats help keep the Element clean, while unique exterior emblems let others know your SUV has literally gone to the dogs.

The Dog Friendly package will only add $995 to the Element's sticker price, and will be available starting November 16.
