GM announced today that the all-new 2010 GMC Terrain will start with a base price of $24,995, including destination charges.
The Terrain is an all-new five-passenger crossover, debuting for the 2010 model year along with its near-twin, the 2010 Chevrolet Equinox. The base price applies to the SLE1 model in a front-wheel drive configuration, equipped with the four-cylinder base engine--a 182-hp 2.4-liter direct-injection four-cylinder--and a six-speed automatic transmission. The all-wheel drive model adds a $1750 premium.
Standard equipment on the base model includes cruise control, remote keyless entry, a rear-view camera system, a six-speaker AM/FM/CD audio system with USB connectivity and XM satellite radio, six airbags, stability control, a tire pressure monitoring system, and OnStar.
At the top of the Terrain range is the SLT2 trim, which adds leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, Bluetooth capability, automatic climate control, a Pioneer sound system, a power liftgate, a sunroof, and a chrome appearance package for a starting price of $29,995.
Available options include a six-cylinder engine (a direct-injection 3.0-liter V-6 making 264 horsepower and 222 pound-feet of torque), a navigation system, and a DVD entertainment system.
"The Terrain allows us to build on the evolution we started with the Acadia, applying the distinctive styling and capabilities that have always been a part of the GMC DNA to smaller, more fuel efficient vehicles that customers are seeking in today's rapidly changing market," said Susan Docherty, GM's vice president of Buick-Pontiac-GMC in the U.S.
The Terrain is slated to arrive in showrooms this September.
