We've seen spy photos and Ferrari’s official CAD renderings of the new 458 Italia, and now Ferrari has released the first official photos of its latest offering.

We knew the 458 Italia would be attractive, but these actual photographs make us pine for the car even more. Unlike its predecessor (the F430), the Italia’s design incorporates more revolution than evolution. Some interesting exterior bits are the wind-deforming front aerodynamic effects, the chromed brake calipers, and the triple exhaust tips, a styling cue taken from the venerable F40 supercar.

The interior of the car is also an interesting affair, with the absence of any steering-column mounted stalks (e.g. turn signals, headlights, etc.). Instead, everything is operated via the steering wheel or the VDA display, which can be accessed using knobs on either side of the driver.

The official public debut of the 458 Italia is set for the Frankfurt motor show in September. Stick with Automobile Magazine for the latest news and updates en route to the show.

1. Love the exterior. The 1980's Japanese show car interior, not so much. Maybe it it looks less plastic-y in person, but it just seems like a very odd arrangement of in-organic, cheep looking shapes. Hopefully it actually works better than it looks.
