After just two years, deputy CEO Jim Press is reportedly leaving Chrysler before the year is over, according to three unidentified sources.

The Wall Street Journal reported last week that Press, 62, is expected to leave Chrysler this year, citing three people who have been informed of the executive's plans. Chrysler spokesman Gualberto Ranieri declined to comment on the report.

Press was one of the few Chrysler executives who weren't ousted by Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne when he took over as CEO of Chrysler earlier this year. Before Chrysler dove into bankruptcy, Press was previously a vice chairman, but since Marchionne took over he has stayed on as deputy CEO, an advisory role created for the transitional period.

Prior to working for Chrysler, Press spent 37 years at Toyota, where he eventually became a board member and head of the Japanese automaker's U.S. operations. One of the Journal's informants said Press will likely leave before December.
