2009 Lamboghini Murcielago LP 650-4 Roadster Revealed

Hot on the heels of the release of the Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SV, the boys from Sant’Agata Bolognese are at it again with the Lamborghini Murcielago LP 650-4 Roadster.

The roadster receives an upgraded version of the 6.5-liter V-12 found in the Murcielago LP 640.  As denoted by its designation, the special edition LP 650-4 Roadster has 650 hp- up 10 from the standard Murcielago.  Acceleration and torque remain unchanged – 0-60 mph still comes in 3.4 seconds, and the engine still produces 487 lb-ft of torque.

Apart from the slight bump in power, this special edition roadster is primarily an appearance package.  The ‘Grigio Telesto’ exterior paints most body panels in a grey hue, while the front spoiler, side sills, and the inner surfaces of the rear vents are done in a retina-scalding orange.

To let the occupants know they’re in a special edition car, the passenger and driver’s side dashboards trimmed in unique materials.  The driver’s side features black alcantara with orange stitching, while the passenger’s side dashboard is black leather with orange stitching.

Only 50 units will be produced, so if the standard Murcielago Roadster isn’t unique enough for you, move quickly.  No pricing is given, but expect the LP 650-4 to carry a substantial premium over the standard Roadster’s $382,400 (excluding destination and gas-guzzler tax) price tag.
