The Edo Speed GT starts life as a Bentley Continental GT Speed which has a none-too-modest 610 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque and is capable of a top speed just over 200 mph. Edo Competition boosted output to 680 hp and 659 lb-ft of torque. This enables the car to reach a top speed of over 211 mph. The Edo Speed GT has a higher top speed than the new Continental Supersports, but is not quite as quick off the line- 4.2 seconds 0-to-62 versus 3.9 seconds 0-to-62 for the Supersports.
To extract more power from the already potent 6.0-liter W-12 engine, Edo Competition developed a new high-performance exhaust system and ECU calibration. The exhaust features a butterfly valve system with an optional remote control to allow for two different exhaust volume levels. It seems more manufacturers are falling into the trend of allowing more noise into the cabin on command with butterfly valves now seen on vehicles like Corvettes and Porsches.
The Edo Speed GT is differentiated from a normal Continental GT Speed with unique 20-inch racing wheels and a lowered suspension. The suspension can be adjusted via an electronic air suspension control module that allows the car to be lowered up to 35 mm. The lowered suspension helps improve the car’s handling in addition to adding to the sporty look.
No price is given, but the saying “If you have to ask, you probably can’t afford it” stands as the Bentley Continental GT Speed already has the astronomical starting price of around $200,000.
