New pictures of the 2010 Volkswagen Golf GTI MK VI surface

Volkswagen has just posted pictures of the production version of the Euro spec GTI on its UK consumer site. As one might imagine the production model is nearly identical to the concept shown in Paris.

So far there hasn't been an official press release on the production spec car, but the site does say a couple words about it. The hot hatch is capable of 0 to 62 mph in 7.2 seconds and a top speed of 148 mph. When the concept debuted, VW said it would have a 210 hp TFSI engine paired with either a six-speed manual or a dual-clutch, six-speed DSG transmission.

The site said the new GTI will feature advanced new systems to maximize traction and improve responses. We can only assume that means it will get the XDS limited slip differential and adaptive chassis control from the concept as well.

That's all the information we have for now. We're expecting VW to follow up with more official information in the very near future.
