Despite all the hype about the Geneva auto show next month, Kia is building anticipation for the Seoul Motor Show in April. Seoul is where the company will unveil the 2010 Sorento, previewed here in this darkened teaser shot.
From the image, it appears the Sorento has gained some length, perhaps for a third row of seats. It is expected to drop its current body-on-frame construction in favor of a unibody platform that it will share with the Hyundai Veracruz. Engine choices will likely remain unchanged, although a revised 3.8-liter V-6 mated to a six-speed automatic transmission could be made available after launch.
The 2010 Sorento will be built at Kia's new West Point, Georgia plant in 2009. It will go on sale in Korea shortly after its official Korean unveiling, and it should be available in the US by the end of the year.
