Suzuki Kizashi: Not Dead After All

Though news sources suggested yesterday that development of the Suzuki Kizashi was halted for fiscal reasons, we've just heard that's far from the case.

According to American Suzuki's Jeff Holland, the midsize sedan hasn't been axed, and will actually debut in production form at the 2009 New York auto show in April.  Last year's New York show played host to the Kizashi 3, a revised form of the original Kizashi concept shown at the 2007 Frankfurt motor show.

If the production sedan resembles the Kizashi 3 concept, expect power to come from a 300-hp 3.0-liter V-6, coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive.

1. This is good news. I'm looking forward to a larger Suzuki sedan. I'd love to see Suzuki really bring some of the excitement found in its two-wheel toys to the cars it sells.
