2010 Ford Taurus Pricing Announced

Ford has released pricing for its new flagship, the 2010 Ford Taurus, unveiled this week at the 2009 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.  The new Taurus features a boatload of standard features, and a long, tech-heavy options list.  The big news, though: the new Taurus will start at the same price point as its predecessor.

The 2010 Taurus will come in three familiar flavors: SE, SEL and Limited.  Ford's Duratec 3.5-liter V-6, a six-speed automatic transmission, traction and stability control and ABS are standard on the SE, which rings in at $25,995, including destination and delivery charges.  Also standard are power locks and windows, a six-way power driver's seat, side and side curtain airbags, a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, an MP3-capable single disc CD-player, an audio input jack,  Ford's new Easy Fuel capless fuel-filler system, keyless entry and an SOS Post-Crash Alert System.

Move into an SEL and the price bumps up to $27,995, excluding destination and delivery charges.  The SEL adds paddle shifters, a leather wrapped steering wheel with cruise and audio controls, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, dual-zone automatic temperature control and SIRIUS satellite radio to the standard features list.  Options for the SEL include SYNC, a Sony brand stereo with a six-disc CD changer and twelve speakers, push-button start, a reverse sensing system, ambient interior lighting, heated leather seats, a moonroof, power-adjustable pedals, and all-wheel drive.

The $31,995 (excluding destination and delivery) Limited trim makes ambient interior lighting, SYNC and the reverse sensing system from the SEL standard, and adds 10-way power driver and passenger seats, one-touch up/down windows, a premium six-speaker stereo system with a six-disc CD changer and a universal garage door opener.  Options for the Limited include heated/cooled front seats, heated rear seats, power-adjustable pedals with memory settings, a rear power sunshade, a voice-activated navigation system, rain-sensing windshield wipers, Ford's BLIS (Blind Spot Information System), adaptive cruise control, push-button start, remote start and all-wheel drive.

Ford will also offer its new EcoBoost 3.5-liter V-6-which will be available in the 2010 Lincoln MKT crossover and 2010 Lincoln MKS sedan-for the new Taurus, although Ford has yet to announce when exactly that engine will show up for the Taurus.  According to the 2010 Ford Taurus promotional website, the all-new sedan will be available at dealers starting in July.
