Reiter Engineering Makes the Lamborghini Murciélago R-GT Street Legal

The factory-backed motorsports company that prepares Lamborghinis for the FIA GT Championships has converted one of its racers for street duty. Reiter Engineering offers a Lamborghini Murciélago R-GT that you can drive to the track and back.

The Murciélago R-GT was originally introduced at the 2003 Frankfurt Motor Show. It was lighter than a standard Murciélago, and featured lots of carbon fiber bodywork, aerodynamic accents, and a two-wheel-drive layout to comply with FIA regulations.

The road-going version gets the some of the same lightweight aerodynamic treatment as the race car. It sports a unique exhaust mounted between the taillights along with black O.Z. racing wheels and a carbon-fiber front spoiler, rear diffuser, and rear wing.

Reiter will currently only offer this one-off show car originally shown at the Essen Motor Show. However, it does plan to sell some of the parts as limited-edition aftermarket components.
