According to a statement released by Nissan, it has "found a way to maintain a presence at the Chicago show through our dealers, while still demonstrating the fiscal responsibility required by these challenging times."  Nissan had previously announced that it would not have a presence at the North American International Auto Show or Chicago auto show, citing financial difficulties.

Speculation had been circulating that this newly affirmed presence at Chicago hinted at the debut of the NV2500 concept, Nissan's first commercial vehicle for the U.S.  In an announcement Tuesday morning, however, Nissan revealed that the NV2500 would be presented via webcast on December 4th.

Nissan is the largest in a growing group of automakers abstaining from the Detroit auto show, which includes Porsche, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, Rolls-Royce and Ferrari.
