Ford has revealed more about the tuned cars it will display next month at the 2013 Specialty Equipment Market Association show in Las Vegas. The automaker plans to gradually reveal information on its show cars over the coming weeks, but for now Ford has detailed tuned versions of the 2014 Ford Fiesta ST and 2014 Ford Mustang.
The first modified machine is a 2014 Ford Fiesta hatchback tweaked by 3dCarbon. A new body kit gives the Fiesta lower, more aggressive lips and skirts, along with 19-inch red wheels and a two-tone red-and-black leather interior. The goal is for the car to have a more “European flavor,” the company says. 3dCarbon regularly displays tweaked Ford products at the SEMA show, having first produced a body kit for the Fiesta in 2010.
The Ice Nine Group worked over a 2014 Ford Fiesta ST, endowing the hot hatch with a funky vinyl wrap, a vented carbon fiber hood, fender flares to accommodate 17-inch rally-style wheels, enormous fog lights, and special quarter windows with air vents. The group worked with rally instructor Tim O’Neil to craft a vehicle meant for “alternative forms of motorsports” like rallying.
MRT took a different approach to tuning the 2014 Ford Fiesta ST, slathering on road-ready upgrades that include a new stainless-steel exhaust, a Cobb Tuning intake, adjustable coil-over suspension, upgraded brakes, and new green wheels with red accents. The wheels match the eye-searing green paint job applied to the Fiesta, which is also home to a new sound system.
Bojix Design painted a 2014 Ford Fiesta ST gray and then added bright-orange contrast accents. A new exhaust, water-methanol engine injection system, lowered suspension, and unique black wheels complete the car’s transformation.
The final tuned 2014 Ford Fiesta ST comes from a partnership between Cobb Tuning and Tanner Foust Racing. A carbon fiber hood, military-inspired digital camouflage paint, and new wheels with orange lips define the exterior. Beneath the sheetmetal, the Fiesta benefits from a new exhaust and intake, a Kicker sound system, a new shift knob, embroidered floor mats, and custom headrests.
Other tuners took on the 2014 Ford Mustang GT, starting with tuner Hollywood Hot Rods. The company chopped apart the Mustang coupe’s roof and installed a removable aluminum panel, and then modified the car’s rear with enlarged fenders and a reshaped rump. All of the new body parts are made from aluminum. Beneath the hood, the 5.0-liter V-8 engine has been massaged to produce 750 hp, thanks to a supercharger.
Nitto Tire, meanwhile, slapped a 3dCarbon body kit on its 2014 Ford Mustang GT, as well as black racing stripes and enlarged Wilwood brakes. Ford Racing parts help the 5.0-liter V-8 engine produce a smidge more power, while Nitto NT05 Max tires mounted on new three-piece forged wheels help direct that power to the road.
Earlier this month, Ford showed a tuned Mustang GT with a bright-yellow paint job and Vortech supercharger. Ford plans to reveal six more modified cars on Monday, October 21; two more cars on October 22, 23, 24, and 25; and three cars on October 30 and 31.
