If you’re in the market for a new hybrid, you’re in luck: the online configurator for the 2012 Toyota Prius c has gone live. Toyota’s smallest hybrid starts at $19,710, including destination, for a base 2012 Prius c One.
That $19,710 will net buyers a base-level Prius c One, which comes with standard creature comforts such as automatic climate control, LED brake lights, and Bluetooth connectivity. Stepping up to the Prius c Two adds cruise control, split folding seats, and a rear cargo cover for just $950 more. A moonroof, navigation system with Toyota’s Entune multimedia system, and Smart Key keyless entry are standard features on the mid-level Prius c Three, which retails for $22,395. The top-of-the-line, $24,155 Pruis c Four includes goodies like heated front seats, 15-inch alloy wheels, and fog lamps. A fully loaded 2012 Toyota Prius c Four with the optional 16-inch alloy wheels tops out at $25,140.
All Prius c models come with 1.5-liter four-cylinder gas engine mated to an electric motor with a total output of 99 hp. The only transmission available is a continuously variable unit that sends power to the front wheels. Thanks to this frugal combination, the 2012 Prius c is rated at 53/46 mpg city/highway by the EPA.
Buyers get to choose from a number of festively named exterior colors including Habanero (orange), Moonglow (white), and Summer Rain Metallic (turquoise). Light blue grey interior fabric is standard on all models except the Prius c Four, which receives SofTEX fabric in the choice of grey or black.
Check out Toyota’s website for all the ways you can customize your own 2012 Prius c, which are at dealerships now.
