We’ve already seen what the 2010 Mercury Milan Hybrid will look like thanks to some test mules running around without any camouflage and now all doubts about the production 2010 Ford Fusion’s front end can be cast away.
The new Fusion will share the Milan’s hood powerdome, and get a new interpretation of the typical three blade grille found on most Ford cars. There aren’t photos of the profile or rear of the Fusion yet, but you can bet the overall shape is very similar to the 2010 Mercury Milan we already showed you.
Ford is clearly focusing on fuel economy with the 2010 Fusion and plans to introduce a 2.5-liter I-4 that is expected to return 33 mpg on the highway and produce 175 hp. The 2.5-liter Duratec comes from the 2009 Ford Escape. Revisions to the 3.0-liter V-6 add 19 hp and 23 lb-ft more torque for 2010. A 3.5-liter V-6 rated at 263 hp is reserved for Fusion Sport models. All Fusions will use a six-speed automatic transmission.
Ford will debut the 2010 Ford Fusion at the November Los Angeles auto show along with the 2010 Mercury Milan and hybrid versions of both sedans. Stay tuned to AutomobileMag.com for all the latest LA show news and photos.
