Along with the 550i Gran Turismo, BMW also released pricing details for its new 2010 X6 ActiveHybrid. The hybrid-electric crossover carries a hefty base price of $89,725, which includes destination.

The company’s first hybrid offering to reach the consumer market (a 7-series ActiveHybrid will follow shortly), the X6 uses the same 4.4-liter V-8 found in the X6 xDrive50i, but mates the engine to a complex hybrid transmission co-developed with General Motors. The system allows the X6 to achieve 17/19 mpg city/highway, a slight increase over the normal V-8 X6, which is rated at 13/18 mpg.

Although the hybrid X6 may carry a base price significantly higher than a normal xDrive50i (which stickers at $67,875), it includes a number of premium features within that price tag. Standard features include extended nappa leather, 20-inch wheels, a heads-up display, rear view camera, and several others.

A similar amount of money will also net buyers the speedier X6 M ($89,725), but given each model’s purpose, we doubt much cross shopping of the two will occur. Expect X6 ActiveHybrids to arrive at dealers starting December 5th.
