BMW announced pricing for its new 2010 550i Gran Turismo will start at $64,725, including an $825 destination charge.
Packages available on the new “sports tourer” are mostly typical BMW fare. Some options include a heads-up display ($1300), night vision ($2600), four-zone climate control ($500), and power rear window shades ($500). For those who truly want to enjoy the rear-seat experience, opt for the $3950 Luxury Rear Seating package. In lieu of the standard bench seat, this package installs two power-adjustable bucket seats in back. Tick every option box, and you’ll likely find yourself staring down a $96,000 price tag.
The 550i GT, which sports a 400-hp 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V-8, will go on sale come December 5. Those who prefer a slightly more sensible Gran Turismo option may prefer to wait until April, when the six-cylinder 535i Gran Turismo arrives at dealers.
