Scion will start its pre-customized xB at $16,420 including destination for a manual-transmission variant, while the automatic will run $17,370. The xB Release Series 6.0 (xB R.S. 6.0) is Scion’s first limited production vehicle of 2009.
For the additional $1,743 added to the base price of the bedazzled box, buyers get a bounty of extra equipment. First off, all 2,500 models in the production run will receive the “Absolutely Red” exterior paint job. The xB R.S. 6.0 wears a unique front grille with custom black finish and special Release Series wheel covers. A painted rear spoiler is a $320 uninstalled option.
Inside, the brazen xB’s interior trim, seat inserts, illuminated door sills, and interior lighting are all “Absolutely Red.” The cabin will also sport an individually numbered badge and a custom Pioneer AV navigation system.
The xB R.S. 6.0 will be shown at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, January 11-25. It will appear in dealer showrooms starting in February.
