We’ve already spent a year with a Mazda 2, but seeing as Mazda’s officially bringing the b-segment hatchback to the U.S, you can too…
Utilizing the same basic underpinnings as the 2011 Ford Fiesta, the subcompact Mazda2 not surprisingly shares the same length as its distant Blue Oval cousin. In terms of design, it wears a milder case of Nagare, the brand’s styling philosophy, with a less Joker-esque grin up front and milder lines leading into the short back end.
Mazda President Takashi Yamanouchi introduced it at its L.A. show debut as a “car only Mazda could build” and touted what he says is the Mazda2′s superb craftsmanship, attractive design, and a dynamic driving character. It hits U.S. dealerships next summer.
Mazdaspeed also had a pair of modified 2s on hand, presumably previewing forthcoming performance and aesthetic accessories.

Saw the euro-spec Mazda 2 in Spain last year.I’m excited about this and the Ford Fiesta. Wonder how the pricing will compare to the Fiesta?
Does this mean we are getting a Speed2!?! That would be phenominal, especially considering how much lighter the 2 is compared to the 3. Do it!
