With only 25 R8s built each day in Audi’s plant in Neckarsulm, Germany, the automaker expects to complete around 6000 cars for global consumption each year.; Demand for the slinky coupe is outstripping supply, but an Audi manager claims customers are willing to wait, and are “less focused on the model year.”
We’re betting they’re also unmoved by a bump in pricing.; A 2009 R8, fitted with a six-speed manual transmission, now starts at $113,700, including a $1200 destination charge.; That’s a $4700 increase over the 2008 model, a change also reflected in the $122,700 price tag of a 2009 R8 with the R tronic automated gearbox.
